From Newcastle To Whitby
Introduction I love going to Whitby and I used to drive but Whitby is not a place for cars, just park them and that's it. We usually stay at La Rosa (my favorite hotel ever) or Dillons (just a lovely welcoming place) and my stories about them are at the end of this.

Introduction This was kicked off by Catweazle's name for the telephone. Catweazle was a medieval sorcerer who ended up in modern times (the nineteen seventies). The full episode is all over Youtube and most of my readers might not even recognise what he is holding as a landline telephone handset.

A Wander Back Through Vocal's Top Stories
Introduction I don't know what prompted this, although I did a piece on the history of Vocal's Challenges which I have included at the end of this story. I also was not sure how to approach this either, but how I have decided to do it is to include the first ever Top Story, the last Top Story at the time of publishing this, my own first and last (you got to do some self promotion) then one for each of the seven years that we have had Top Stories.

The Invitation
It was just a card , standard postcard size , but very high quality. The card was an invite , there was an address in a high class expensive part of the city, and an offer of substantial financial remuneration for an hour of his time. A two way conversation would be expected and would be held in the library.
